At the Complete Health Chiropractic Clinic we have two highly qualified massage therapists, Kerry O'Toole and Sharon Robinson. Kerry qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1989. 3 of these years were spent working in Palliative Care, where massage was an integral part of some patient's treatment. The benefits were profound, triggering her interest in using complimentary therapies alonside conventional medicine. Since qualifying in 2003 Kerry has incorporated Reiki into her massage therapy enhancing the effects and benefits of her treatments. As well as massage, she is also qualified in Aromatherapy, Indian Head Massage, Pregnancy Massage and Reflexology. Sharon has over 14 years health and wellbeing experience. Initially commencing with a Masters Diploma in Clinical Sports Massage, many other styles and techniques, including Massage with Cancer Care and Diploma in Indian Champissage, now blend into her intuitive massage treatments. Sharon has previously taught massage, together with Anatomy, Physiology and Stretch. She is a qualified C.H.E.K. Holistic Lifestyle Coach (Level 2) and having recently completed the Bach Fower Remedies Advanced Level 2 course, she is continuing to study with the aim of achieving practitioner status. Aromatherapy Aromatherapy massage focuses on major lymph drainage and helps promote emotional as well as physical well-being, for example can help with lifting low mood or fatigue. Aromatherapy blends can also be used to enhance a therapeutic or relaxation massage treatment. Remedial Massage On a deeper level remedial massage provides treatment of long standing muscle related problems. It provides an excellent supportive role to chiropractic treatment, notably with pain disorders, inproving recovery time and enabling maximum repair. Sports Massage Sports massage helps break up fibrosis enabling stretching, lengthening and releasing deep seated muscular tension. It improve mental preparation for sporting events and aids training. Used pre, during, or post competition it reduces the likelihood of injury and enhances performance. Hot Stone Massage This technique uses the application of heated iron rich basalt volcanic stones to muscles and trigger points around the body as a therapeutic treatment. It provides deep stimulation using a broader, more comfortable contact to relieve muscular tension and provide a deeper sense of relaxation. Reflexology Reflexology uses the reflex areas on the feet which correspond to all of the glands, organs and parts of the body. Working on these areas of the feet can stimulate self-healing. Reflexology can help relieve stress and tension and improves blood supply and circulation so promoting the unblocking of nerve impulses which helps the body's organs to work in harmony with each other.
